Preview: KCCA Want To Build On Vipers Win

KCCA FC will take a short trip to Luzira to face Maroons in a league meeting at the Prisons playgrounds.

KCCA beat Vipers in their last league game

The Kasasiro boys will be out to seek for maximum points against stubborn Maroons who are yet to lose a game at home.

KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso has dubbed Maroons as a stubborn side but he has backed by his confidence on the preparations and how they played against Vipers as a push factor which will help them overcome the prisons side.

“We play against Maroons in a game which is very demanding, we need to work extremely hard for positive results,” Byekwaso said.

“They are a very stubborn side but if we play the way we played against Vipers then we shall be able to collect maximum points.

“The boys are in good shape, the environment is favourable and we only need to put more concentration and focus on the game for maximum points.

“Our only worry is if we fail to lift ourselves against a small team then questions will be asked again. We are going to go all out as we are taking a serious route for us to be on the top of the table and we need to be more serious to overcome a stubborn team.”

Byekwaso got a sigh of relief after his side did just enough to overcome defending champions Vipers 1-0 at Lugogo, after being on pressure following their 3-1 loss away to Arua Hill.

The KCCA fans carried placards asking the management to sack Byekwaso, and his job is not yet safe unless he can thread a good run of results.

Against Maroons, they face a side that has had a mixed start to the season – They also lost 3-1 away to Arua Hill FC but they then carry an unbeaten run at home as they are also yet to concede a goal with new recruit Simon Tamale proving his worth in goal.

Maroons players in training

Maroons have played two games at home and have managed to win 5-0 against Busoga United and also picking a 0-0 draw against Wakiso Giants.

Midfielder Belmos Opio has called upon his fellow teammates to stage a fighting spirit and bounce back to winning ways.

“We have to strive so hard, focus and make sure that we win this game, it must be a positive result to make our supporters happy in Luzira,” said Opio.

KCCA FC are yet to lose a single game against Maroons in their last eight meetings as they have won six and managed two draws.
