Wakiso Giants Head Coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda has admitted that his side is not where he wants them to be after a narrow 1-0 away victory over UPDF.
Moses Aliro scored in the 24th minute to lift the Purple Sharks over UPDF at Bombo on Tuesday.
The win, second in a row, took Wakiso Giants to 3rd place with 7 points after four matches.
“Of course credit as usual goes back to the players for the hard work and performance, it was necessary for us to win,” Ayala told the club media.
Prior to this win, the Purple Sharks were winless in their two away games, a 3-2 defeat to KCCA in the opener and a goalless draw with newcomers Maroons.
“The guys played on instructions, as you remember our first away game was a loss but we thank God that we managed to get this needed result”.
Ayala is unmoved by his players failure to convert their chances but he’s optimistic about the team’s creativity.
“Of course as usual creating chances and not taking them away is just work in progress, the bigger task in not creating chances but the fact that we do create them so it’s an easy task, the only solution we have to do is to take them away”.
Next on the agenda for Ayala’s side is URA at Kabaka Kyabaggu on Tuesday 1st November.
