Absa To Sponsor Ten Golfers for 2023 Magical Kenya Open

Leading bank in the country, Absa bank Uganda, will for another year running sponsor 10 golfers to Kenya for the Magical Open.

The ten were picked from the concluded 2022 Absa Pro-Am golf tournament at the ongoing Uganda Golf Open at Serena Kigo in Entebbe.

Absa Bank Uganda Managing Director Mumba Kalifungwa confirmed: “We are very proud of the growth that the Uganda Golf Open and the Pro-Am have registered over the years.

“We take this opportunity to offer our support towards furthering the growth and development of the game in Uganda through opportunities that increase the players’ skill and exposure like the Magical Kenya Open.”

The whole sponsorship, estimated at Sh65m, will cover the players’ travel, accommodation, and participating fees for the Pro-Am Tournament of the Kenyan derby.

The Pros are Joshua Seale, Silver Opio, Robson Chinhoi, Simon Ngige and Celestine Nsanzuwera.

The five amateurs are Harry Hakiza, Allan Mugisha, Raymond Ekwamu Edrine Wasike and Wu Wei Ling.

It’s strong to note that Absa sponsored 10 best Amateurs from the 2021 Absa Pro-Am for the Kenyan tournament held at the Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi.

The pro-am ushered in the Professional open as the paid rank golfers take to the course until Saturday.
