Maroons succumbed to a 3-1 defeat away to Arua Hill to end their unbeaten start to the season in the Uganda Premier League at Barifa Ground.

Kawawa Rashid, Innocent Maduka and Toha Rashid were on target for hosts Arua Hill.

Abraham Tusubira scored the only goal for Maroons.

It’s now back to back wins for Livingstone Mbabazi’s side who were 3-1 winners against KCCA with both of their triumph coming at home.

Kongolo Skipper Toha takes his tally to two goals having scored against KCCA as well.

The reigning Uganda Premier League Youngest Player of the Season Kawawa Rashid picked from were he left last campaign to score in two consecutive games as well.

Arua Hill’s early dominance was rewarded with an early goal in the 12th minute after Jacob Okao tried to stop Kawawa’s shot only to head in his own net and the goal was awarded to the Forward.

Arua Hill could have scored more in the opening stanza but they were denied by Goalkeeper Simon Tamale who stopped both Kawawa and Isaac Ogwang.

At restart, Sam Ssekamatte paved way for Innocent Maduka who needed just 10 minutes to get on the score-sheet and double the hosts’ lead in the 56th minute from a freekick rebound.

Goalkeeper Tamale brought down Kawawa in the forbidden area and Toha made no mistake from the spot to slot home in the 77th minute.

With seven minutes to the end of the game, Maroons pulled one back through Tusubira for just a consolation scoring from a one on one opportunity.

The Visitors could have had more goals but they were betrayed by poor finish and brilliant saves from Richard Anyama who denied Isaac Mpagi.

Arua Hill leapfrog Maroons to move 3rd on the log with six points after two matches while Maroons drop to 5th with five points in four games.
