KCCA FC: Lord Mayor Lukwago Warns Players, Technical Team

KCCA lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, who doubles as the KCCA FC patron, has issued stringent warning to the Club players and technical team.

Lukwago has asked the team to step up their performance or take a whip.

The caution comes after a slow start from Lugogo-based who slipped to eighth in the League after falling to Arua Hill 3-1 at Barifa.

Lukwago who was speaking during the club’s official unveiling ceremony of Chint as their new shirt sponsor.

To the players and coaches, We cannot afford to put up a laclustre performance,” Lukwago said.

“This Sloppiness will not be tolerated, I want to be clear on that. We can’t have Chint as our sponsor and we get mauled. No way. You should know what it means to put on that brand, the stakes are now high.

“We have done our best as administrators and it’s the players and technical team to live out to the billing. Your work is cut out.

“And to the technical team as well, take this message very serious. It’s time for us to see the Kawowo (tik-tak football) which defined our character.”

Under fire coach Morley Byekwaso

The Lugogo based side finished 18 points behind Vipers last season as they missed out on the league title.

And the fans have already called for Coach Morley Byekwaso’s sacking just two games into the new season.

They grit teeth to beat Wakiso Giants 3-2 and were beaten 3-1 at Barifa by Arua Hill.

“We are following football online and then you get beaten by these boys of Arua Hill. We concede three goals, and then you hear towards the end that we have scored a goal, just a consolation. No way. We have to do better.

“All we need are trophies.”

The Club’s main targets include returning to the continent, a dream that has just been achieved by Vipers who eliminated TP Mazembe to storm the CAF Champions League for the first time.

“We congratulate our brothers who have made it to the CAF Groups but that’s where we belong, KCCA is a continental club,” he added.

“KCCA has a huge history, pedigree, profile and a big brand and that’s the reason we are attracting multi international companies.

“We are going to push forward as a team and as an institution an agenda of ensuring that we remain on top.”
