Senkaaba’s late Strike salvages point for URA

George Senkaaba scored in stoppage time as his side URA FC picked a hard fought 1- all draw against BUL FC in a league game held at at Nakisunga Ssaza grounds on Friday.

Senkaaba, who was making his full debut for the Tax Collectors scored in added time from a free kick to ensure that his side avoided defeat at home.

Jerome Kirya had put BUL ahead early in the 2nd minute of the game but his goal wasn’t enough on the day.

URA’s Ibrahim Dada also missed a penalty in the 79th minute after he was fouled in the forbidden area.

It is the second point for URA having picked a point off Onduparaka in their opener.

The visitors, Bul FC took an early lead through Kirya, whose effort outside the area URA goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi to enter the back of the net and his goal was the difference at half time.

For the hosts, URA, they lacked enough ideas Infront of goal as it has been in their past two opening games.

But at the restart, the Tax Collectors returned back a more organized side going upfront in search for an equaliser.

And it could have paid off late the 79th minute, but substitute Dada a penalty after he was fouled in the area.

And with the game headed to Bul’s way, Senkaaba levelled matters in added time, scoring from a free kick to ensure that the Tax men avoided defeat. His goal was his first ever since joining URA in the just concluded transfer market.

The draw sees URA move to two points after three games but it leaves a lot of work to do for Sam Timbe’s men if they are to favourably compete for this year’s title.

For Bul FC, they move to seven points and are still on top of the league after three games.(W2, D1).

What Next- URA will visit Busoga United on Tuesday 18th October while Bul FC welcome SC Villa on Friday 21st this month at FUFA technical centre in Njeru.
