Kampala Queens Seek to Extend Perfect Start

Kampala Queens will be targeting to extend their perfect start when they host Uganda Martyrs H/S Lubaga at IUIU Kabojja Grounds in a Saturday morning encounter.

The Kabojja based club have been impressive since the start of this year’s Fufa Women super league, winning all their three opening games.

They got off the mark in style with a 5-0 win over new comers Asubo Gafford, picked a 2-1 win over defeding champions She Corporates and also beat She Makerere University by 1-0 in their previous game.

And they currently sit at the top, with nine points, two ahead of their Saturday’s opponents Uganda Martyrs.

Speaking ahead of the game, assistant coach Kato Senyange Alimiah anticipates a tough challenge but is hopeful that they get the needed result.

“We are going to face a stubborn team, they are young and talented. But we also have good players who are ready for the task, they are in a good shape.

It’s a tough game but we are at home and we expect Maximum points, he told the club’s media.

Kampala Queens winger Zainah Nandede is the only player that is ruled out, having picked up a knock in the previous game against She Makerere University.

In Uganda Martyrs, a big test awaits Kampala Queens and they must be at their best against a side that has sights of storming the summit.

Meanwhile, the visitors Uganda Martyrs will be seeking to put more pressure on the Queens when take a visit to Kabojja.

The Lubaga based have also had a good run in their first three games, and are currently second with seven points.

They have so far picked two wins, each against Rines WFC and Asubo Gafford and also registered a 1- all draw against defending champions She Corporates.

Their forward, Latifa Nakasi, who scored the equaliser against She Corporates is optimistic her side will pick maximum points from Kabojja.

“We are all in good shape as players. All we want is maximum points from Kabojja, she told the club’s media.

Elsewhere, Defending champions She Corporates will host UCU Lady Cardinals as they continue their search for the first win of the season.
