Reports: Blacks Power, Coach Onen To Part Ways

Uganda Premier League newcomers Blacks Power are set to part ways with head coach Peter Onen, The-SportsNation sources have learnt.

Onen is said to have left the team on Thursday morning, with the developments coming just two matches into the season.

The side have had a poor start to the season, with two losses from as many games.

They were beaten in their top flight opener 5-0 by BUL FC at Akibua Stadium in Lira before falling 2-0 to Busoga United at Kakindu.

But Club CEO Edison Shaban Sabasaba has refuted sacking claims when approached by The-SportsNation: “We have not sacked our coach, nothing of that sort has happened.”

Blacks Power were crowned champions of the 2021 FIFA Big League but have failed to hit the ground running in top division.

The club parted ways ways with Viali Bainomugisha and replaced him with Onen in June this year.

Onen who has worked with the Uganda Cubs (National U17 team), has had Uganda Premier League experience with BUL FC among other teams.
