Nassuna Banking On Experience To Lift Kampala Queens

Kampala Queens forward Nassuna says she wants to use her past rich history to take her new side to the promised land.

The former UCU Lady Cardinals forward scored the only goal as her side picked a 1-0 win over She Makerere in a league game held on Sunday at Makerere grounds.

Speaking after the final whistle, Nassuna was quick to express her delight.

“I’m happy that, i have scored my first goal. We have managed to collect three points and am very sure those points will take us somewhere, Nassuna told the pressmen after the game.

It was Nassuna’s first game this season, ever since joining the Kabojja based club.

And on her debut, she scored from a direct free kick in the 16th minute to get off the mark, a goal that could later turn out winner.

“This is a new journey and I’m trying so hard to fit in the team so that I can perform well. I want to carry my previous performance In the last season with me at this club.”

Last season, Kampala Queens had a poor start into the season failing even to win any home game in the first round.

They lost one game at home, drew four and picked four wins with all of them coming away from home.

And despite the impressive second round, the Queens went on to loose the title to eventual champions She Corporates, who won the championship by just one goal.

But following Sunday’s victory, Nassuna says they want to perform better in the first round to take away the pressure.

Having scored her first for the Queens, Nassuna will be hoping that she can keep her scoring touch so as to help her side achieve more than last season.
