KCCA: Byekwaso Wants To Win All Home Games

KCCA FC who finished second last season behind Champions Vipers started the season with a slim home victory against Wakiso Giants at Lugogo.

Ashraf Mugume scored a brace alongside a goal from Geoffrey Wasswa to guide KCCA FC past Wakiso Giants.

And the gaffer has put focus on winning all the remaining games at Lugogo.

“Our target this season is to see that we can win all our home games,” Byekwaso said.

“Last season, dropping points at home cost us the trophy and if we want to compete we must secure points from home.”

KCCA won 10, drew 3 and lost 2 games at Lugogo last season.

Speaking in the hard fought win at home, the Kasasiro boys head coach was delighted to collect maximum points at home in the opener.

“We are so happy that we won our first game of the season and winning against a team that defeated us in our last game last season.

“The players really worked hard to see that we won today.”

Ibrahim Kasule and Tom Matsiko scored the two goals for the Visitors.

KCCA FC failed to take the game into their control despite playing at home and the Purple Sharks could have walked away with at least a point on the day.

“The game didn’t go as planned because we failed to control it the way we wanted,” Byekwaso added.

“From the start to the end, we had moments which put us under pressure and we failed to concentrate on playing our style.”

On conceding twice, Byekwaso stated: “I don’t blame my players because it’s not that easy to gain match fitness in the first game of the season and every team suffers the same thing for like 3-4 games in the season.”

“We were aware of their strikers and how dangerous they are as they are very fast and you know slow players always fall for that.

“(John) Revita made a mistake he didn’t intend to and it cost us a penalty but we shall forgive him for that as we look forward to rectify our mistakes in the next game.”

KCCA FC will travel to Arua to face Arua Hill FC where they claimed a 1-0 win last season and will look forward to maintain a perfect start in the season with maximum points.

“Every game comes with it’s own approach and as we are heading away in Arua, we expect to come back with a win.”
