St. Lawrence University (SLAU) booked the first slot in the Semifinals of the University Football League with a deserved 4-1 win over Kampala University.
They now progress past the Quarterfinals with a 5-1 aggregate win.
Bruno Bunyaga scored a hat-trick while Martin Kikambu added the other to hand SLAU a home victory.
Bill Joseph Lokomaketch scored the only goal for Kampala University.
It was the hosts that took an early lead when Bunyaga converted from an early penalty in the second minute of the game.
Kampala University pushed hard for a comeback after an early set back and they were awarded a penalty in the 16th minute as Kiss Yosia was brought down in the forbidden area.
Bill Joseph Lokomaketch converted from the spot to level the scoring with just 17 minutes.
St. Lawrence kept on pilling the pressure to the Visitors but missed a couple of chances, Raymond Lubanga and Kalanzi had their shots saved by goalkeeper Kasumba Francis.
But Bunyaga, after agood link up play with Kalanzi, beat goalkeeper Kasumba for SLAU to restore their lead in the 39th minute.
With three minutes into the second stanza, striker Bunyaga completed his hat-trick when he beat goalkeeper Kasumba to tap in with ease taking the game to 3-1 lead for the home team.
Kikambu spared time to register his name on the scoresheet with just less than a minute to tha final whistle as he slotted home a lose to score the fourth for SLAU on the day.
St. Lawrence University head coach Davis Ssozi Nnono saw his side power past the two time champions to seal a back to back semi final slot having finished runners up in 2019.
For SLAU becoming the first to qualify to the semis they will have to wait on all the remaining second leg quarter matches in order to learn their next opponent.
