*She Corporate 1-2 Kampala Queens

In a mouth-watering tie in the FUFA Women Super League, Kampala Queens came from a goal down to beat defending champions She Corporate 2-1 at Nakawa.

Goals from Resty Nanziri and Shamirah Nalugya were just enough to cancel out a second half opener from Favour Nambatya.

The well attended game against two title favourites lived to the billing and it was a good advert of the Women Super League.

A solid Kampala Queens side dominated the game and possessed from the word go despite failing to capitalise on their first half chances created.

Midfielder Margret Kunihira had a couple of chances to put the visitors ahead but she only came close with a cross that hit the post before it was cleared away as the first half ended goalless.

In the second half, Kunihira was once again denied an opener when she headed in a corner from Nalugya as the referee judged her to having pulled before heading the ball.

Kampala Queens had their goal wrongly ruled out when Kunihira headed inside from a corner.

Favour Nambatya put the hosts ahead with a sublime finish with her effort taking a slight deflection in the 63rd minute to beat goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro.

Striker Nanziri gave the visitors life back as she pounced on a lose ball outside the area to send a sweeping finish far beyond goalkeeper Daphne Nyayenga’s reach.

Captain Shamirah Nalugya scored from the spot kick in the 74th minute of the game to give Kampala Queens a deserved lead after goalkeeper Nyayenga had taken down Nanziri in the forbidden area.

Kampala Queens have now picked their first victory against She Corporates having gone the last four league games without a win and they now comfortably sit atop of the log.

She Corporate remain with just a point in their opening two games after drawing their opener against She Mak.

They will face off with Uganda Martyrs on their third league game away from home where as Kampala Queens will be up against She Makerere in their third match.
