Dominic Ayella Hands Kibuli East African Schools Title

Dominic Ayella scored twice as Kibuli SS beat Highway of Kenya to win the East Africa Secondary Schools Football Competition in Arusha, Tanzania.

The KCCA FC youngster put Kibuli ahead with a well-taken freekick before adding the second with a close range finish in the 71st minute of the game.

It has been a successful tournament for Ayella who finished as the tournament MVP and top scorer.

The win, comes off the back of Kibuli’s semifinal penalty shootout victory against Buddo SS while Kenya’s Highway had eliminated defending champions St Mary’s Kitende to reach this stage.

St Noa beat Kenya’s Wiyeta 2-1, goals from Sylvia Kabene and Erica Kanyamuneze, to lift the Girls football Competition.

Uganda completed a sweep of Football Competitions at the games, with Rays of Grace (Boys) and Bombo Umea (Girls) clinching the Primary Competition.

Overall, Uganda managed to defend their title they won in 2019 after collecting 41 medals, a tally that included 18 gold medals.
