•Men: Sport-S Vs UCU Doves, 4pm

The Sport S ladies’ team will be in action for the final of the Ndejje Open Volleyball tournament against the defending champions, Ndejje Elites, on Saturday at the Old Kampala Arena.

Ndejje are also the reigning league champions after they beat Vision Volleyball Club 3-1 last season while Sport S lost the 2022 National Club Championship to OBB, dethroning the Elites earlier this month.

“We have been and we are still preparing for tomorrow to see that we can defend our championship. This game will be a great motivator to the team upon the upcoming league games,” Ndejje tactician Ronald Kitosi said earlier today.

Ndejje boosted their offense after signing Catherine Ainembabazi from VVC but will want to find fitting replacements for Moreen Mwamula, Faith Magole, Jesca Kaidu, who left for OBB, and Supernatural Mbakisimira who joined KCCA if they are to post a title defender’s performance.

Meanwhile, Sport S Coach Damulira Malik agrees Ndejje are a strong opponent but his charges are equally prepared to take on the challenge and play their best game.

“We are actually training well, the girls are trying to catch up the momentum with how we really want our team to play. We know it’s always a tough game for us to play against the experienced ndejje team but we are working so hard to play the best game we can possibly do and hopefully we can emerge as winners for this edition.” Damulira said.

Damulira will have a full squad at his disposal to count on, with no specific players reported injured. He is confident of his technically strong team to bend the result towards their side.

Sport S and Ndejje Elites have had a bright start to the new season with the Elites overcoming KCCA in a 3-1 victory and Sport S dominating KAVC ladies 3-0 in their league opener.

For their last two encounters, both teams have had a go at each other, Ndejje winning round one by 3-1 and Sport S returning to claim a 3-2 victory in the second round, despite failing to make it past the season semi-final playoffs.
