East Africa Schools Football Competition will have a new champion this year after defending champions St Mary’s SS Kitende were knocked out.

Kitende suffered a 1-0 loss against Kenya’s Highway at the semifinals to bundle out.

The Kenyan side got the all important goal through Andreas Odhiambo in the 70th minute.

It’s to be remembered that Kitende beat Buddo SS 1-0, goal scored by Umar Kyebatala, to win the title back in 2019. In 2020 and 2021, FEASSA games were postponed due to COVID-19.

Buddo will as well not make a trip to the final after falling to Kibuli SS in the other Semifinal.

Buddo got into the lead through Ronnie Zirabe before Allan Oyirwoth levelled matters. And Kibuli went on to win 4-3 in shootouts with their goalkeeper Fahad Imran keeping out two kicks.

In Girls football, Sylvia Kabenga scored twice as St Noa beat Kawempe 2-1 in an all Ugandan affair to reach the final where the will meet Dagoretti of Kenya.
