Striker Sadat Anaku has failed to join Uganda Cranes team in Libya due to ‘Visa issues’.
Uganda Cranes is currently in Libya for the ongoing Tri-Nations friendly tournament.
Anaku was initially summoned to the Uganda Cranes team for the Libya and Tanzania friendlies.
He was not part of the team that played a goalless draw with Libya on Wednesday.
His new club, Dundee United, has confirmed that the striker has returned to Scotland: “Sadat Anaku has returned early from International duty with Uganda due to a Visa issue preventing him from entering Libya to join the squad.”
“Dundee United thanks the efforts of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations and look forward to Sadat being called into future squads.”
It’s a blessing in disguise for Dundee United who are preparing to face St Johnstone at Tannadice on Saturday October 1st.
FUFA is set to issue a statement on the matter.
Uganda will face Tanzania’s Taifa Stars this Saturday in Benghazi.
