NBL Playoffs: UCU Out To Force Decider

Wednesday, September 21
•City Oilers Vs UCU Canons – 8pm

UCU Canons will seek to force a decider when they face off with City Oilers in game four of the NBL semifinal playoffs on Wednesday at YMCA Court in Wandegeya.

After trailing the series 2-0, UCU responded with a 60-50 victory on Sunday to save their season.

But a win for the Oilers on Wednesday will see the seven-time NBL Champions march onto the final against Nam Blazers.

It still remains a tricky tie for either side; and after Sunday’s game, many questions were left unanswered.

For starters, that was only the second time this season that the Oilers failed to score more than 50 points in a game!

Coincidentally, the first was against UCU in regular season when they lost 44-58 in the regular season.

The Oilers have to get a quick response after they were strained by lack of offensive production on an evening they shot 16-of-60 from the field.

None of their players scored in double digits and UCU always responded everytime Oilers flirted with a run.

And the ease with which UCU protruded through Oilers defense left a lot to be desired, not taking away much from Nicholas Natuhereza’s army.

UCU will need to have Fayed Baale at his best as it has been this whole series, but those around him must as well shine including the three bigs in Titus Lual, Fadhil Chuma and Peter Sifuma.

Probable Starting Five:

City Oilers – Jimmy Enabu, Tonny Drilleba, Ceaser Kizito, James Okello, Francis Azolibe

UCU Canons – Fayed Baale, Jerry Kayanga, Ibanda Lwabaga, Titus Lual, Fadhil Chuma
