St Andrew Kaggwa Gombe got off the mark as Ugandan schools continued to shine at the ongoing FEASSA games in Arusha, Tanzania.
St. Andrews beat Rwanda’s ES Gasiza 2-1 for their first win in the football tournament.
Travis Mutyaba and Steven Mwanje scored for St Andrews to recover from an opening day defeat against Kibuli SS.
“I thank God for the victory, we lost our opener but we have managed to make amends and I am happy for the boys,” said St. Andrews coach Godfrey Kireewa Maato.
“The Boys were fatiged in the opener against Kibuli because we arrived late at night (3am) and played the following morning.
“We have belief that we are going to win our remaining group games so that we can reach the semifinals.”
St Andrews will face Highway SS (Kenya) on Monday before Tanzania’s Kiwira Coal Mines SS in their last group game.
