She Corporate started their The FUFA women super League title defence with a 1-1 draw at Makerere University.

Newcomers Makerere came from a goal down to pick a vital point at home.

Spencer Nakachwa put the visitors at the stroke of halftime but they were pegged back when Nalubowa levelled matters at restart.

Nalubowa pounced on a loose ball in the She Corporate defence and looped it over goalkeeper Fatuma Matovu who was off her line to score the equaliser.

And the hosts almost walked away with maximum points but goalkeeper Matovu saved Sharon Namatovu’s penalty after defender Stella Musibika had handled in the forbidden area.

Matovu also had other good saves, proving her worth in goal as first choice Daphne Nyayenga is away with the school in the East African games.

Player of the year contender Phionah Nabumba had a brilliant chance to score the winner for She Corporate but her powerful effort in the box hit the crossbar.

And nothing could separate the two sides before the final whistle.
