Uganda Premier League side URA have confirmed the signing of former UPDF Goalkeeper Wasswa Yusuf.

Wasswa who had successful trials with the Tax collectors, joins from UPDF after the end of his contract with the Army side last season.

The Custodian previously featured for SC Villa and Onduparaka, he comes in as a replacement for injured James Alitho who had a surgery that will see him out for a year.

However, he will face competition from Nafian Alionzi and Hannington Ssebwalunyo for a place in the goal.

Wasswa was one of the key players for UPDF last season, relegating experienced Brian Bwete to the bench.

URA have so far signed James Begesa from UPDF, George Ssenkaba from Express and Salim Abdallah from Villa.

The Tax collectors will open their season against Onduparaka at Nakisunga Stadium on Saturday 1st October.
