Luweero United Sign UPDF Defender

FUFA Big League side Luweero United have completed the signing of Defender Julius Kisambira from UPDF.

The soft-spoken Defender joins the Kosovo Boys with vast experience having played in both the Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League for UPDF.

Kisambira was impressive for UPDF last season in the games he played though he wasn’t a guaranteed starter for the Army side.

His versatility will also be key for Luweero United as he can play in Defensive Midfield role as well.

The Defender was among the players who left UPDF at the end of last season.

Other players who left UPDF are are Sunday Geoffrey who joined Mbarara City, James Begisa joined URA, Dickens Okwir joined new entrants Blacks Power, Bernard Muwanga, Denis Ssekitoleko, Simon Mbazira, Wasswa Yusuf while Musa Mudde and Brian Bwete retired from active football the former joining the Technical team.

Luweero United avoided relegation on the last day of the previous season despite losing 2-1 to Champions Blacks Power because of a superior goal difference. They had (-4) compared to Proline’s (-7).
