Uganda Cranes: Six Foreign-based Players in Squad To Face Libya, Tanzania

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Micho Sredejovic has summoned a squad of 35 players that will take part in a mini tournament in Libya.

The squad include six Foreign-based players for a tournament due next week.

Uganda will face Libya on Wednesday September 21 and Tanzania on Saturday September 24 in a tri-nation tournament in Benghazi.

Sadat Anaku who recently joined Dundee United of Scotland, is among the players in a squad that largely consist of players under the age of 23.

The mini tournament will basically prepare the Uganda U23 team to face Guinea in AFCON U23 Qualifiers.

The other Foreign-based players include goalkeeper Giosue Bellagambi from Huddersfield Town FC, Abdul Azizi Kayondo, Musa Ramathan, Steven Sserwadda and Derrick Kakooza.

The six foreign based players and four players from Vipers SC will not be available for the testimonial matches but instead will join us on Sunday as we travel to Libya,” he said.

The squad will play two testimonial matches for former Cranes midfielder Tonny Mawejje who announced his retirement.
