The Groups:

•Group A – Tanzania, Egypt, Uganda, Mauritius

•Group B – Senegal, South Africa, Mozambique, Seychelles

Uganda National Beach soccer team, The Sand Cranes have learnt opponents at the COSAFA Beach Soccer tournament.

The Cranes earned an invite to take part in the tourney due September 25 to to October 1 in Durban, South Africa.

The Sand Cranes are pitted in group B alongside two other guest teams in neighbours Tanzania and Egypt with the other opponent being Mauritius.

Group B has Senegal who are the reigning Beach Soccer AFCON champions, holders of the COSAFA Beach Soccer tournament Mozambique alongside Sychelles and hosts South Africa.

The Sand Cranes recently sealed a back-to-back qualification to the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations for the second time in a row after eliminating Comoros.

And they will use the COSAFA tourney to prepare for the Beach Soccer AFCON.

The Sand Cranes who earlier boosted their technical bench with the addition of Switzerland international Angelo Schrinzi as the technical director, will have to test their squad against African giants before the 2023 BSAFCON tournament.

Schrinzi is tasked to help out Uganda perform better in the COSAFA Beach Soccer tournament and the Beach Soccer Africa cup of Nations.
