Uganda premier League side Vipers SC have named Milton Karisa as the new team captain.
These new developments were made official on Friday via the club’s official website.
Karisa now takes over the arm band from defender Halid Lwaliwa, who is on the verge of sealing a professional deal most likely in South Africa.
Lwaliwa has been the captain for the Kitende based side ever since 2018.
Karisa will be assisted by midfielder Siraje Sentamu as the vice captain and right back Ashraf Mandela as the third captain.
It is a big step for Karisa, who joined the Venoms from Bul FC in the 2016/17 season.
His first game as the new Captain will be this Saturday as Vipers take on Central African Republic outfit Olympic Real De Bangui in the CAF champions League preliminary round.
Previously, Taddeo Lwanga, Nicholas Wadada and Farouk Miya have all captained the Kitende based side.
Currently, the Vipers team flew out of the country this week on Thursday and will be expected to be in Congo Brazzaville by Friday ahead of their continental engagements.
But in the named team, forward Yunus Sentamu and Paul Mucureezi were left out as they are still recovering from injuries.
