Uganda National Volleyball League side Orange Block Buster (OBB) have parted company with head coach Lawrence Yakan.

Yakan won OBB a league title last season, their first in the club’s brief history after overcoming Nemo Stars.

Yakan’s sacking comes in the wake of the club’s failure to win the National Championship that was played over the weekend when the side lost to Sport-S in the final held in Iganga.

“OBB, coach Yakan Lawrence and his assistant Jacob Ssenoga have reached a mutual agreement to part ways,” the Club confirmed in a statement.

The Club stated that the technical staff will handle the duties at the moment as they embark on a search for a new coach.

“The coaches are a big part of our history and we treasure their distinguished contributions.”

OBB will start their title defense against 2009 league champions Sport-S this Saturday at Lugogo.

They added Jonathan Tumukunde (Nemo Stars), Brian Atuhaire (Sport-S), Levi Ogwang Syrus (Sport-S) and Edrisa Kijjambu (Elyon) while Martin Ssemwanga left the club to join Ndejje.
