Uganda Vs Tanzania: Preview, Probable Lineup and How To Watch

Saturday, September 3
•Uganda Vs Tanzania – 4pm

Uganda Cranes will be out to seal a place to the 2023 CHAN finals when they host Tanzania in the return leg at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

The Cranes put one leg into the final tournament when they beat Taifa Stars 1-0 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar Es Salaam last Sunday.

It needed youngster Travis Mutyaba to come off the bench to score a beauty that separated the two neighbors late in the game.

And even a 2-1 loss at home will see Cranes advance on away goals, a rule that still works in Africa.

“The players are ready for the task ahead. We have enough preparations knowing that players were coming from off season, played friendly matches and now the document is in our hands but that document can only be valid with a stamp and that is what we shall be aiming at in Saturday’s game,” Micho said.

“The players are in good shape and we have given no room for complacency. There is so much to fight for in Saturday’s game and we cannot allow that spirit now.”

Micho has beefed up the team with four additions including the summoning of new KCCA FC Striker Shaban Muhammad who was dropped before the team flew out for the first leg.

Midfielder George Kasonko and defender Brian Mato were also recalled while Vipers winger Ibrahim Orit is the new addition.

Micho has over the past days warned his charges not to rest on their laurels as they face a Tanzanian side that has nothing to lose at the moment.

And the fact that Uganda has found barely no success at Kitende, lives the equation slightly balanced.

The Taifa Stars sacked their head coach Danish Kim Poulsen after that Sunday loss, and have also added a couple of names on their roster including striker John Bocco.

Uganda, if they overcome Tanzania, will seal a ticket to Algeria, confirming a sixth consecutive CHAN qualification!

How To Watch – The tickets are still on market at FUFA house, going for Sh10,000 (ordinary) and sh50,000 (VIP).

Those at home, the game will be broadcast live on FUFA TV, which can be accessed even on YouTube.

Uganda Cranes Probable Lineup – Nafian Alionzi, Gavin Kizito, Derrick Ndahiro, Livingstone Mulondo, John Revita, Siraje Ssentamu, Saidi Kyeyune, Moses Waiswa, Travis Mutyaba, Shaban Muhammad, Milton Karisa
