Farouk Katongole: Express Confirm Signing Lanky Defender

Express FC have confirmed signing centre back Farouk Katongole, it’s official.

The lanky defender has joined the Red Eagles on a two-year deal after ending his stay at URA FC.

Katongole joined URA FC in 2020 after his previous club Tooro United was then relegated to FUFA Big League.

He is quoted by Express: “I am glad to be joining Express FC one of the biggest and definitely the oldest club in Uganda, with me am coming with experience and determination to help the club win as it has always done.”

He is expected to fill the void left behind by Captain Enock Walusimbi whose armband has been passed Issa Lumu.

Derrick Ngoobi, Yusuf Ssozi, Hamim Ssemakula, Anwar Ntege, Marvin Oshaba, Joseph Dhata are some of the new signings that have been unveiled at Express.

The Red Eagles will hope to content for the title they won in 2019/20 season after finishing 6th with 46 points last campaign.

The new season of the Uganda Premier League is expected to kickoff on September 30.
