Tanzania Sack Coach After Loss To Uganda Cranes

Tanzania Football Federation have confirmed sacking National team coach Kim Poulsen.

The development comes in the wake of the team’s 1-0 loss to Uganda Cranes on Sunday at Benjamin Mkapa stadium in CHAN Qualifiers.

Travis Mutyaba scored the only goal of the game to leave Uganda Cranes knocking on the CHAN door.

“The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has reached an agreement to remove Taifa Stars team coach Kim Poulsen from the technical bench along with his assistants,” reads a statement from TFF on Monday.

“Both sides have reached the agreement after a joint session.”

TFF has stated that Poulsen will continue to remain in the National Youth teams until his contract expires

TFF has put the Taifa Stars under coach Hanour Janza who will be assisted by Meck Maxime and goalkeeper coach Juma Kaseja

Poulsen, a Danish, has been in his second spell as Taifa Stars coach having held the position between 2012 and 2013.

He was appointed last year in February, then signing a three-year deal to replace Burundian Etienne Ndayiragijje.

Taifa Stars will travel to Uganda for the return leg of the CHAN Qualifiers due Saturday at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
