KIU Titans have advanced to the semis of the Tusker-Lite sponsored NBL Playoffs after a deserved win over Power at Lugogo.
KIU backed their Friday win to take game two on Sunday as well with a deserved 70-52 to win the Best of three series 2-0.
Coming into Sunday’s game two, Power knew that a loss would send them packing and were buoyed up to force a decider.
They gave it their all as they tied the game 47-47 going into the last quarter, before a late collapse.
KIU Titans built a 11-0 run to take command and eventually march into the semis, waiting on the winner between Nam Blazers and KCCA Panthers, the latter leading the series 1-0 after their win on Saturday at YMCA.
Michael Otieno (12), Isaiah Mabeny Ater (12) and Edgar Munaaba (11) led the way for KIU Titans.
It looked like a one-man show for Power, with Innocent Ochera (15) the only player to reach double figures in scoring.
And the five-time Champions bundle out of the playoffs at an early stage, been put out of their misery after a season hit with financial hardships.
And notably, they played the playoffs without head coach Bernis Ankunda who he reportedly parted ways with the club!
