Striker Eric Kambale says that he has taken a huge step in his career to join Sudan giants Al-Merrikh.
Kambale was on Monday unveiled as Al Merrikh player on a two-year deal from Uganda Premier League side Express.
He expressed his delight on joining Al Merrikh in his first interview with the club.
“I am happy to be here, this is a big step of my career, I am here to help the team win titles and also look forward for the Champions League,” Kambale said.
“I want to thank all Al Merrikh members for the good welcome.”
Kambale will be hoping to help Al-Merrikh reach greater heights after failing to win the league last season.
The finished second with 74 points, three below champions Al Hilal Omdurman.
They have reached the group stages of the CAF Champions League in the last two editions and have been pitted against AS Arta/Solar7 of Djibouti at the first hurdle of qualifiers.
They have never won the CAF Champions League title but reached the semifinals in 2015 when they were eliminated by eventual champions Al-Merrikh.
It’s also strong to note that Al-Merrikh are 19-time Sudan Premier League champions.
