Our Saviour picked a deserved win over KIU Titans on Saturday in the Tusker-Lite sponsored National Basketball League at YMCA Court, Wandegeya.
KIU Titans missed key pillars of the team including Michael Otieno, Fidel Okoth, Joseph Chuma, Edgar Munaaba and Isaiah Mabeny.
And they couldn’t get things going after trailing 10-20 after the first quarter before the deficit was widened to 24 going into the last quarter.
Our Saviour continued to benefit from a couple of errors and open looks before sealing a 77-51 win against a Titans side who put up an uncharacteristic performance.
Stanley Mugerwa scored 17 points from 6-of-14 shooting and he was the only KIU player to reach double figures. The former Warriors big man also added 8 rebounds.
Elton Donald Bakara had 18 points, Henry Ssebagala added 15 while Moses Mugisha contributed a double double of 11 points and 16 rebounds in a winning effort.
It’s the ninth loss for KIU Titans who ended their regular season campaign on a low note while Our Saviour who picked their 10th win of the season, have all but survived relegation.
