Uganda’s National Netball team, the She Cranes, eased past Northern Ireland for their second win at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The side recorded a 63-26 win on Wednesday off the back of a loss against England on Tuesday.

It was a one-sided affair right from the word go and She Cranes proved more clinical to lead 11-5 after the first quarter.

The lead was extended to 17 goals at halftime and Uganda never looked back to win by 27 goals difference.

Mary Nuba Cholhok scored 41 goals to lead the way while Shadiah Nassanga added 14 goals off 15 attempts. Irene Eyaru added 8 to the winning effort.

Ciara Crosbie scored 14 goals but the tally proved not enough against a blunt Northern Ireland team.

With the top two places already taken by England and New Zealand, Uganda are vying to finish third in the group, a place that will come under scrutiny when they face Malawi on Thursday.

And the She Cranes are likely to face South Africa in the placement games, who may finish third behind Australia and Jamaica in the other group.

And a win against South Africa, if all comes to pass, may see Uganda leapfrog South Africa as the Continent’s best in World Rankings
