Uganda Premier League newcomers Maroons have signed Arafat Kakonge, it’s official.
The Creative Midfielder becomes the second signing of the Prison Warders after the club unveiled Noel Nasasira.
Kakonge joins Maroons after previous stints with Kyetume, Wakiso Giants, UPDF and Police FC.
“I am happy to join Maroons, the coaches have much belief in young talented players and I feel I can easily fit in the squad,” Kakonge told the Club media.
“When assigned my roles as an attacker, I will be in position of scoring goals and create more assists for the team.
“I am also excited to join the likes of Olinga, Okot, Walusimbi and other players who are equally talented, we shall add a great value to the team.
“Our target will be to fight for our existence in the top flight in the first season and we challenge for the big prize from the second on wards.”
Abraham Tusubira, Solomon Walusimbi, Godwin Kitagenda, Ceasar Olega, Emmanuel Akol and Felix Okot have renewed their contracts.
But Silvester Okello shall miss the season as he undergoes Cadet Principal Officers Training course.
