The CAF Women’s Champions League Regional Qualifiers will now be played in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.
Initially the tournament, in its second edition, was scheduled to take place July 28th to August 10th in Arusha.
Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director, stated that the tournament will now be played August 14-27th.
The development means that the AFCON U17 Qualifiers will then be played in September 2022.
The inaugural regional tournament where Uganda was represented by Lady Doves was won by Vihiga Queens in Kenya.
There will not be any representative from Kenya after a recent FIFA ban.
The eight teams that will be drawn for the CECAFA Women’s Champions League include; She Corporate FC (Uganda), Simba Queens FC (Tanzania), Yei Joint Stars FC (South Sudan), Warrior Queens FC (Zanzibar), Fofila PF (Burundi), AS Kigali Women’s FC (Rwanda), GRFC (Djibouti), Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.
