The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) has on Wednesday entered into a partnership with Crown Beverages company for a two-year deal to sponsor the Boxing Champions League.
In a partnership unveiled at Lugogo, Crown Beverages through their product Sting Energy Drink, will inject Sh285 in the Boxing competition.
The partnership is a collaboration between UBF, Top boy promotions, Next media and Sting energy drink which will see sponsorship through promoting champions League fights, and rewarding the fans as well.
The Brand ambassador of Sting energy drink Grace Namutebi has ensured the boxing fraternity that they are here to grow the sport of boxing in the country.
“Sting is the leading energy drink in Uganda with affordable energy as well as refreshing, we are very excited as a team to come on board locally by joining the Uganda Boxing champions League on a two year partnership worth 285 million Uganda shillings,” Namutebi stated.
“Our main objective is to grow and keep promoting boxing in Uganda and Africa we are excited to work with UBF and top boy. The sponsorship will be broken down as 100M UGX coming in the first year, and 100M UGX in the second year as well as refreshments and giving back to the fans through winning gifts.”
The UBF president Moses Muhangi also expressed his gratitude towards the partnership.
Muhangi commented: “I thank the patron Mike Mukula for believing in us from day one as everyone else opposed the idea of the boxing champions league. I also thank next media for taking us on as when we approached them it has helped us to achieve such partnerships, we now look forward on how to achieve more partners on board as we target conquering Africa.”
“I want to assure you that everyone will benefit from this partnership, the boxers will also have their share as we also welcome other partners to come on board and we move together. Uganda Boxing champions League is now a hit song which everyone will now have to dance to.”
The Uganda Boxing champions League will return this weekend at the MTN arena in Lugogo.
