Orange Block Buster (OBB) Volleyball Club continued their dominance in Uganda Volleyball after triumphing at the Nkumba University Volleyball Open tournament.
OBB, the National Volleyball League champions, beat Sport-S in the Men’s final 3-1.
The Iganga-based side took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-22 before Sport-S halved the deficit 25-14 to give themselves a fighting stance.
But OBB came back stronger to win the fourth set 25-23 to clinch the pre-season title.
They had topped Group C that had Ndejje, St Charles and KAVC before sweeping aside KCCA 3-2 and Tigers 3-0 in the Quarterfinals and Semifinals in that order to march on unbeaten.
Sport-S on the other hand hand beaten Nemostars and Ndejje in semis and quarterfinals to reach the final.
In the Women category, KCCA were crowned champions after a thrilling 3-2 final over Sport-S Women.
KCCA who came from a set down, needed to win the final set 16-14 and take revenge over KCCA who won the Aporu Invitational tournament last weekend.
KCCA had beaten defending champions KCB Nkumba and KAVC to reach the final while Sport-S cleared OBB and E-Spoir to reach the final.
UCU (Men) and Nkumba (Women) were the defending champions.
