FIFA referee William Oloya will be in the centre as Vipers take on BUL in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final.
The much anticipated affair will be played on Sunday, June 12 at 3pm at the Masindi Stadium.
It’s a big honour for Oloya who was in 2016 banned by FUFA for disallowing Derrick Nsibambi’s goal against Busoga United (then Kirinya Jinja) at Bugembe Stadium.
It’s been meteoric rise for the Computer Engineer since then, and he went on to get his FIFA Badge in 2018.
He has handled a couple of big games on the continent, and was on Thursday (June 9) the fourth official at Kitende as Mali beat South Sudan 3-1 in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.
He returns to the Uganda Cup final where he was the Fourth official in 2019 in Masaka when Proline beat Bright Stars in shootouts.
It’s strong to note that Kenyan Referee Oliver Omondi Odhiambo was the centre referee in 2014/15 final when SC Villa beat KCCA 3-0 at Namboole.
Brian Miiro Nsubuga was in the centre in 2016 when Vipers beat Onduparaka at a packed Nakivubo.
Ali Sabila officiated the 2017 final at Nakivubo as KCCA beat Paidha Black Angels.
Mashood Ssali was the centre refere in 2018 final when KCCA beat Vipers.
Ali Sabila was in the centre as Proline won their maiden Uganda Cup in Masaka.
Last year’s Uganda Cup final was officiated by George Olemu as Vipers beat BUL FC at Njeru.
