Hosts Uganda are buoyant ahead of the 2022 U18 FIBA Afrobasket Zone V Preliminaries in Kampala due June 13-18.
Uganda is hosting both the Boys and Girls championships and will be banking on home support to emerge victorious.
The winners automatically qualify for U18 Afrobasket finals that will be played at the Mahamasina Sports Palace in Antananarivo in Madagascar from July 23 to August 7.
Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania have so far confirmed their participation for the Qualifiers that will be held at Indoor Arena in Lugogo.
Both Uganda teams – Junior Gazelles and Junior Silverbacks – are undergoing training at Africa Bible University.

The boys are under coaches Brian Wathum, Bajunga Ronald and Jonathan Egau.
The Girls are coached by Mavita Ali Moses and Roger Serunyigo.
The teams have been trimmed to 13 and 15 players for Girls and Boys respectively.
