Confederation of African Football, CAF, has confirmed match officials for the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers Group F match between Uganda Cranes and Niger this Wednesday at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
The match officials come from Eritrea starting with centre Referee Tsegay Mogos Teklu and his assistants Michael Eyobel and Samuel Menghis Sirak while Idris Osman is the fourth official.
Tsegay was in charge of URA FC’s CAF Confederation Cup away qualification match against Al Masry last year while Eyobel was an assistant referee as Uganda beat Djibouti at Lugogo in the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.
Uganda lost their opener 2-0 away to Algeria, with Aissa Mandi and Youcef Belail scoring a goal each.
there is no room for error going into Wednesday’s tie as the Cranes will be targeting maximum points against Niger who drew their opener with Tanzania in a game played in Benin.
