Akbal Ssentongo and Ivan Agambire scored in the 53rd and 90th minute respectively as Uganda Martyrs University beat Gulu University 2-0 in Gulu on Tuesday in the Pepsi University Football League.

The victory ensured that Uganda Martyrs completed a double-over Gulu.

Uganda Martyrs won the first leg 2-0 in Nkozi in April this year.

The result takes the former champions to the top of the table and in a comfortable position to qualify for the knockout stage for the 6th time in 6 seasons since 2015.

Action in the Pepsi University League continues on Thursday with a Group B tie between Makerere University Business School and Muni University at Nakawa at 3pm.
