Ndejje Elites are buoyant after picking their first win at the ongoing 2022 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship in Tunisia.

Ndejje beat Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosa 3-0 on Monday. They won the first set 25-20 and never looked back, winning the second and third sets 25-14 and 25-10.

“It’s a big win for us on the Continent, we have composed ourselves, we were serving well, and also improved on the attack,” said Ndejje University Elites coach Ronald Kitosi.

“We thank God that Cathy (Catherine Ainembabazi) is also coming back slowly, she has managed to step on court.”

“We are going back on the drawing board to see where to improve, mainly our service and defence.”

Ndejje had missed Ainembabazi, an addition to the team going to Tunisia, in their first game due to injury.

They consequently failed to get off the mark, falling to Tunisia’s Carthage by three sets to nothing (25-18, 25-22 and 25-15).

They return to action against Kenya’s KCB in what promises to be a pulsating affair, and a win will help the University based side to reach the knockout.
