Vipers SC completed a league double over Wakiso Giants with a 2-1 win in a league game held at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium on Saturday.
First half goals from Bobosi Byaruhanga and Ceaser Manzoki ensured that the Venoms picked maximum points away from home.
Moses Aliro scored for Wakiso as they suffered a fifth consecutive loss on the bounce.
The win sees Vipers, who are already champions move to 71 points and picked their 22nd win of the season.
For Wakiso Giants, they suffer a fifth consecutive loss on the bounce and as well a poor start for them under new shirt sponsor 1X bet.
Straight away, it was a business as usual for Vipers as they showed early signs to score first.
And Bobosi put them ahead in the 12th with his trademark strike just outside the area.
Manzoki later doubled his side’s lead in the 29th after benefiting from a hauler from Wakiso Giants goalkeeper Yunus Abubaker to score in an empty.
Manzoki’s goal is his 18th of the season and he is still the league’s top scorer with just one game to go.
At the restart, the hosts, Wakiso Giants returned back a more rejuvenated side and it paid off in the 58th minute through Aliro, who scored from a free kick to half the deficit.
But despite conceding, Vipers remained calm and composed to keep control of the game.
The Venoms, who were already a goal ahead had more chances to score but Yunus Sentamu was denied by goalkeeper Abubaker before Bobosi saw his free kick saved for a corner.
The win sees Vipers register their 22 nd of the season and they now move to 71 points. For Wakiso, they stay in the 8th position on 36 points.
