Onduparaka striker Shaban Muhammad and Vipers tactician Roberto Oliveira have been named the best player and coach of the April at the Pilsner UPL Awards.
The duo walked home with Sh1m and a plaque each, courtesy of title sponsors Pilsner Lager, after an awarding ceremony at Kati Kati.
Shaban scored six goals in four games he played, netting a hat trick against Police FC and a brace against Express at Wankuluku and one against SC Villa.
Shaban beat Vipers striker Cesar Manzoki and KCCA FC forward Sadat Anaku to the gong.
“I want to thank God, and of course the fans, it hasn’t been easy but they motivated me even when things did not go right, I have not done this alone, the teammates an technical staff have all been there for me
For Robertinho, this is his third gong after winning previously in the month of March and one in December last year.
He beat Bright Stars Coach Paul Kiwanuka who guided his side to three wins and one draw and Onduparaka’s Dudu Bosco who also won three and drawn only once.
“I feel happy to be here for the third time, I have loved Uganda and this country has good talent,” briefly said Robertinho.
The Brazilian, who guided Vipers to their fifth title in Club history, won all the five games in the month of April.
Solomon Mulowa, National Promotions Manager UBL said: “I want to congratulate all the winners, rewarding excelling sportsmen is one way of showing our commitment and support to Ugandan Sports.”
