Mbarara City stand in Vipers way to return to Stanbic Uganda Cup final after the semifinals draw held on Thursday at FUFA House in Mengo.
Regional league side Booma, the only non UPL team remaining in the competition, have been handed a BUL FC assignment.
All ties in this round shall be played on two-leg basis – Home and Away. Away goals rule shall apply if teams are tied by goals after two legs.
There shall be no extratime if tie is level and spot kicks shall be applied.
First leg will be played May 10-12 while return legs will be held May 17-19 2022.
The final will be on June 11/12 2022 at a yet to be confirmed venue.
Vipers SC, eyeing a double having won the UPL recently, are favourites to retain this title.
They obliterated BUL FC 8-1 in last year’s final at Njeru and will fancy their chances against Mbarara City who are still in race to survive UPL relegation.
Vipers have beaten Mbarara City home and away in the league this season – They won 2-1 at Kakyeka before registering a 2-0 win at Kitende.
The Venoms earned a trip to this semifinal stage having knocked out Kigezi Homeboyz (round of 64), Kalango United (Round of 32), Kataka (round of 16) and Wakiso Giants (Quarterfinals).
This season’s Uganda Cup winner will take Sh50m, beaten finalist will bank Sh25m while the other two teams that will be beaten at the semis will take home Sh12m courtesy of sponsors Stanbic Bank and Plascon.
