NBL: Afidra Lifts Power Over Ndejje

Isaac Afidra was the star of the show as Power edged Ndejje University Angels in the Tusker Lite sponsored NBL at Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

Afidra scored a match winning lay up as the clock faded with the game heading to overtime.

The veteran deservedly won Tusker-Lite Player of the match with after filling the stat sheet with 16 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists.

Innocent Ochera scored a game high 19 points while Guddi ‘Kikiri’ Nasser had 12 points in another impressive performance.

Haron Alinaitwe (15), Cikom Monybai (13) and Livingston Kimambo (11) were outstanding for Ndejje but their efforts proved to be in vain in a game that saw the lead exchange hands on various occasions.

The win is the eighth for Power who move second with a 8-3 record this season.

It’s the fifth loss for Ndejje University Angels from eight games.

Elsewhere, Tonny Drilleba scored a game high 28 points as City Oilers rolled over Tropical Royals with a 95-55 victory.

Martin Buluma garnered a double double of 20 points and 16 rebounds as KCCA Panthers extended Falcons winless run this season.

Ines Kanyamunza had 22 points for KIU Rangers who beat Magic Stormers 54-48.

UCU Lady Canons proved too good for A1 Challenge with Tracy Namugosa scoring 22 points in a commanding 90-53 win.
