A – Morocco, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Uganda

B – Cameroon, Zambia, Tunisia, Togo

C – Nigeria, South Africa, Burundi, Botswana

Uganda Women’s National football team, the Crested Cranes, have learnt her group opponents at the forthcoming 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Uganda have been pitted against hosts Morocco in Group A alongside Burkina Faso and Senegal for the tournament due July 2-23 2022.

The Crested Cranes are returning to the tournament for the first time in 22 years after their maiden appearance in 2000 in South Africa.

George Lutalo’s side sealed their fate to Morocco when they knocked out Ethiopia via penalties before progressing with a walkover after Kenya withdrew from the Qualifiers.

Just like Uganda, hosts Morocco are returning to the tournament since 2000 but it’s their third time they are at AWCON after 1998 appearance.

Burkina Faso will be making their debut while it’s the third for Senegal who reached quarterfinals on their debut in 1991.

It’s a fair draw for Uganda, on paper, after avoiding 11-time winners Nigeria, 4-times beaten finalists Cameroon plus other continental powerhouses South Africa and Zambia.

Uganda’s Fixture:
July 3: Senegal – Prince Moulay Sports Complex
July 5: Morocco – Prince Moulay Sports Complex
July 8: Burkina Faso – Muhamed V Stadium
