Uganda Rugby 7s team have booked a place in 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens she September 9-11 at the Cape Town Stadium in South Africa.
Uganda achieved the feat after beating Kenya 22-12 in Sunday’s semifinal of the Nile Special Sponsored Rugby Africa Sevens at Kyadondo.
Phillip Wokorach scored two tries, Adrian Kasito and Aaron Ofoyrwoth scored Uganda’s tries in a historical win.
Tolbert Onyango’s side had earlier qualified for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The result sees Uganda qualify for the finals of the ongoing Rugby Africa Sevens where they are going to face Zimbabwe.
Uganda return to the World Cup after 2018 where they finished 19th in San Francisco in USA.
