Victoria University 1-2 Kumi University
Kumi University came from down to edge Victoria University in the University Football League match played at Kabojja Ground.
Goals from Aliga Malesi Mary and a late winner from Amule Emmanuel inspired Kumi past Victoria University whose only goal was scored by Ssebadduka Kenneth.
Kumi have won all their opening two games while Victoria University are winless in their two games losing both.
Victoria University took an early lead in the 5th minute through Ssebadduka Kenneth to take the lead.
Kajabwangu forced Opila Erik into a decent save following a pass from Wasswa as the hosts looked to double their lead before the hosts Goalkeeper Ssekungu made a great save one on one with Otuta to keep the host’s lead.
Opila was once again called into action this time denying Ssebadduka after a nice diagonal pass from Kisuule to Wasswa.
It was Goalkeeper’s show in the opening stages of first half, Kumi’s Opila stopped Wasswa in a one on one opportunity before Victoria’s Shotstopper made an incredible save to deny Ocana from levelling the matters.
The hosts could have doubled the lead but Ssebadduka attempt went over the bar off Wasswa’s pass before Wasswa’s strike also went wide.
In the 40th minute, Aliga Malesi Mary equalised for Kumi University with a header from the far post.
The visitors came for more in the second half, Amule broke in the area and his low cross was blocked for a corner.
Kazibwe made a timely Interception to deny Aliga’s effort before Aliga and Amule combined to force Ssenkungu into a good save.
Murungi delivery to Kajabwangu but the forward couldn’t connect with it before Murungi header went over the bar from a Bbosa cross.
In the 90th minute, Amule Emmanuel doubled the visitor’s lead with a powerful long range shot to win it for Kumi University.
Kumi University are top of Group A with six points after two matches while Victoria University are bottom in the 4th without a point after two matches.
