Preview: Struggling Police FC take relegation battle to URA FC.
Police FC will start life without Abdallah Mubiru against ruthless URA FC in the Startimes Uganda Premier League as they battle to beat the drop zone.
Police FC under interim coach John Luyinda has shown eagerness to fight and beat the drop zone but they face a huge task as the host bogey side URA FC who are also trying to find their way back to winning ways after going three games without a win.
Goalkeeper Tom Ikara has expressed the players readiness in fighting to help the club survive relegation despite struggling with consistency in their performances.
“The the is ready and focused on the game against URA FC. We are fighting to move out of relegation zone, the coaches have prepared us well and we are all ready to fight for maximum points.” said Ikara.
Police FC have struggled in the second round of the league which has seen them drop to the 14th position on the log with just 24 points. They have only managed a single win in their last ten league games, drawing five and losing four games.
For URA FC, they will target to Finnish high as they can but they have recently struggled with performances which has seen them go three games without a win and not managing to score a single goal.
These performances have seen URA FC acquire new faces in their dressing room which has seen Baker Mbowa and Mubarak Kiberu join the coaching staff of Sam Timbe replacing Simeon Masaba (Assistant Coach), Robert Mukasa (Assistant Coach), Billy Kiggundu (Goalkeeper coach) and Edward Ssali alias Biano (Physical trainer) who were sacked earlier.
URA FC will target to finish in the third place on the log which is just two places ahead of them as the currently occupy the fourth spot with 43 points just two below BUL FC in the third place on 45th points.
They will rely on their talisman Steven Mukwala and Cromwell Rwothomio upfront if they are to pick a positive result against struggling Police FC as they target to return to winning ways.
