Preview: Gaddafi target maximum points in derby against BUL FC.
The soldier boys of Gaddafi FC will aim for maximum points as they host BUL FC in the Startimes Uganda Premier League match at the Gaddafi Arena in Jinja.
Gaddafi who sit 9th on the log with 28 points will aim for their first ever win in the Busoga derby games as they seek to reach their target of making it in the top ten teams in their first season in the league.
According to assistant coach Wamboya Mubarak he has dubbed the game as a string encounter but they remain determined to achieve their seasons targets.
“The game against BUL FC is always a tough one as it is a derby but we as the technical teams have set our targets to finishing the league in the top ten teams.” Said Coach Mubarak.
“We have prepared the team better and we target maximum points so as we can complete our task of making in the top ten teams.”
For BUL FC, they have set all their eyes on finishing the league as high as they can and a third place finish awaits them if only they can put up a stable performance in their remaining league games.
They sit fifth on the log with 41 points just a point below fourth placed Express and two below URA FC who sit third.
According to coach Alex Isabirye, he targets maximum points in the derby game which he expects to be a tougher game as he tries to assemble a squad that will become tittles contenders next season.
“We are playing Gaddafi FC in a tough game as you all know it is a derby game. As I have been telling you, we are assembling a squad that will compete for trophies next season.” Said Isabirye.
He expects to collect maximum points from the Gaddafi Arena in Jinja though he expects a tougher tie as he takes on Gaddafi who have been fighting the relegation battle.
“We shall win though it won’t be an easy game as we are playing a team that is fighting against relegation but we have played teams in this situation like Busoga United and Bright stars. We are ready to fight for maximum points.” Added Isabirye.
Gaddafi FC come into this game with a poor run of performance as they are yet to win a game in their last five encounters. They have lost twice with the latest coming at home as they lost to UPDF.
BUL FC have been on a good run with just losing a single game in their last five encounters winning twice and two draws.
